600 Speedweek features are lined up according to points earned through time trials and qualifying races. That put Alex Bright and Tim Buckwalter side by side in row one. Bright immediately grabbed the lead over Buckwalter, Paul, Christian Bruno and Steven Snyder, Jr.
With Bright out in front, the race was for second through fifth. Buckwalter made several attempts on the lead with challenges from the bottom of the track especially on restarts. Paul moved in to challenge Buckwalter, taking over the runner-up spot just before half way. Buckwalter charged back into second briefly with about ten laps to go but Paul regained the position one lap later. Colin White and PJ Williams made up the rest of the top five with ten to go.
Bright led the way to the checkered flag with Paul racing to the line in second. White and Buckwalter battled for third in the final laps with White earning the position. Buckwalter crossed the finish line in fourth with Diason Pursley rounding out the top five. Michael Nolf finished 6th followed by Williams, Tommy Kunsman, Preston Lattomous and Luke Thomas completing the top ten.
The finish was revised when Bright’s No. R7 did not pass post-race tech. That made Paul the winner of Night 2 with all finishers moved up one position at the end Night 2 of Hyper Racing 600 Speedweeks
The 270 competitors wasted no time in getting right down to business as they raced three abreast for the lead when the green flag waved. Polesitter, John Wagner, Jr. had his hands full as Nick Skias and Tommy Rinck made Wagner the meat in the sandwich as they went high and low to secure the lead. But it was Wagner who exited turn four at the head of the pack to complete lap one.
Wagner led the first three laps before Logan Diehl raced by to take the lead. Diehl led through the halfway mark with Reinhardt, Wagner, Skias and Alex Swift trailing the leader through lap ten.
Reinhardt challenged Diehl for the lead on a lap thirteen restart. It was clear sailing for Reinhardt to the checkered flag.
Reinhardt collected the win over Diehl, Skias, Nick Walton and Swift.
