Having spent most of his life around racing, Andreas took his knowledge as a machinist and applied it to racing. Over the years, Andreas Engines and Carburetors became popular components around the micro sprint tracks, especially among the 270s.
Ken Senior and Junior competed with Ken Jr. doing the work behind the wheel – from quarter midgets to micro sprints. The fact that he was a competitor, never stopped Ken from assisting anyone else in the pit area on any given night. On Friday night, those racers lined up on the Spirit quarter mile to pay their respects to Ken Andreas.
When Danny Serrano launched his Skyscraper event for the Micro Sprints, he wanted to offer a unique trophy for the winners – something that everyone would want to win. Ken Andreas came up with just what Danny was looking for. The first Skyscraper trophies were fashioned from used micro sprint parts and were quite the talk around the track.
