Bridgeport, NJ – The fast and furious Friday night action continued at the Spirit Auto Center Speedway on Friday night, sponsored by Izzy Trucking & Rigging on what proved to be one of the nicest race dates weather-wise so far this season.

Anthony Tramontana has been knocking on the door, collecting all top ten finishes and a pair of thirds in the first five races of the season.  On Friday night, he became the sixth different winner in the Hyper Racing 600 Micro Sprints on the Spirit quarter mile.
Polesitter, Chris Fenimore took the lead on the start and led the first eight laps while Tramontana picked his way through the field from his eighth place start.  Fenimore, defending champion, Matt Smith, Olivia Haworth and Sam LaMothe chased the leader through lap ten.  Smith took over second from Fenimore on lap fourteen.  Haworth moved up to third on lap seventeen with a pass by Fenimore.  Also advancing was Geordan Marerro who lost several positions during the early part of the race but was picking his way forward as the laps counted down.
The first caution flag of the race came just six laps from the checkered when Steven Fleetwood got out of shape in turns three and four.  Tramontana led the field back to the double-file restart.  Lap twenty-four saw another caution, this time for Rebecca Lamothe.  The field realigned for the single file restart.  Tramontana raced to the checkered for the win over Smith, Haworth, Marerro and Sam LaMothe.  Julian Rexrode finished sixth followed by Fenimore, Dan Leaper, Sonny Tete and David Crossman.
This is the third season for car owner, Bob Burgess and Tramontana.  Burgess’ original plan was to race the car himself but later asked Tramontana if he would like to give it a try.  The No. 80 team has been working hard ever since.  This year’s indoor 600 event in Trenton, NJ saw Tramontana running up front among some very stout competition with the team’s Hyper with power by Dave Orange.
Alex Swift raced the Blanda No. 15 to their sixth win of the season as this team is currently undefeated in 270 Micro Sprint competition.
Nick Walton had the Palmucci No. 16P out in front through the halfway mark.  Swift raced in second and caught up to Walton by lap ten.  After racing for the lead, Swift took over on lap twelve and led the remaining laps to the finish.  It was Swift for the win over Walton.  Lee Nardelli finished third with Blake Esham and Billy Gray rounding out the top five.
Prior to the start of the night’s racing, several of the 270 teams lined up along the homestretch to pay tribute to Ken Andreas who died suddenly several days before.  Andreas played a key role in a number of these race teams as a builder of engines and carburetors.
Swift dedicated his win to Andreas.
The No. 680 team picked up repeat victories in the Speedway Entertainment All Star and Junior Slingshot events.
Brandon Oakley raced to this third win of the season in the All Star Slingshots.  Brayden Morrison led the first two laps of the contest before Oakley took the lead and then raced away from the competition.  Two time feature winner, PJ Bozowski finished second followed by Morrison, Kristofer Surran and Todd Martin.
Oakley’s team mate, Jack Jarvis raced to the win in the Junior Slingshots.  Danny Kurtz and David Morrison raced for the lead on the start but Jarvis made his way through the top five to take the lead by the end of lap one.  Jarvis led every lap from green to checkered to take the win over Riley McGuire who was making a first visit to the Spirit quarter mile.  David Morrisn finished third followed by Gage Marerro and Austin Walls.   Charlie Moore finished sixth with Gavin Marerro, Hannah Kormann, Danny Kurtz and Nate Kampe completing the top ten at the checkered.
The Spirit Auto Center has an off Friday this week as Bridgeport prepares for the Monster Trucks.  Action returns on Friday, June 14 with the same four divisions.
