KELLER, LOCUSON, PARTITE & SAMMONS BEAT THE RAIN
With light rain at the speedway and heavier rain threatening the area, Spirit Auto Center Speedway completed their third night of action in less than 90 minutes. Jon Keller won the wingless 600 Micro Sprint feature. Chris Locuson backed up his win last week in the 600’s with a win in the 270cc Micro Sprints. Rick Partite was the first driver to repeat in the same division capturing the non-stop 20 lap Speedway All-Star Bagels Slingshot feature. And 2015 ServPro Four Cylinder Enduro champion, Chris Sammons captured his first win of 2016.
The eventual winner, Keller grabbed the lead on the first lap but it was Travis Hill, using the high groove, who charged into the lead by the end of the second lap. Hill remained in command until he slowed exiting turn fourth to complete lap 12. Keller regained the lead while Hill headed for the pits. Nick Havens recorded his career best finish in second followed by Jermain Godshall, James Morris and Wayne Scott.
As the rain began to fall harder, the 270cc Micro Sprints took to the track. Locuson took command at the drop of the green and steadily built up a straightaway lead. Tyler Reinhardt grabbed second at the halfway mark of the event but was not able to mount a challenge. Rich Keller, Kyle Spence and Tyler Grau completed the top five at the checkered flag.
Steve Schenker grabbed the lead of the Speedway All-Star BagelsSlingshot feature with Chuck Whary taking the lead on lap two. Whary held the lead until Rick Partite took command at the completion of lap six. Rick Partite pulled away from the rest of the field in the non-stop feature capturing the win over Mike Glass, Lou Partite, A.J. Gerhart and Whary. The Slingshots return on Sunday, May 15th for the first round of the Poker series

Chris Sammons led the ServPro Four Cylinder Enduro feature from start to finish. Keith McKinley, John Webster and Art Knapp completed the field in the non-stop event.
