Bridgeport, NJ – Tommy Kunsman drew the pole for the start of the twenty-five lap Hyper Racing/EVO Injection 600 Micro Sprint feature event and led every lap to earn his Ace for the 2020 Poker Series competition.

“I really don’t like starting on the pole,” Kunsman explained.  “I’d rather start second or third.  This lines change on this track all of the time and when you  start up front you don’t know where everyone is running.”  But Kunsman mastered the technique, right up until a car spun in front of the leader on the final lap.  “I was going to be able to driver around him,” Kunsman stated.  “But then somebody whaled me from behind.”  Fortunately, Kunsman was able to keep going and didn’t end up having the wild ride that he envisioned as the incident unfolded.

Kenny Miller and Colin White balttled for second throughout the race with Miller finishing ahead of White at the checkered.  Kyle Spence finished fourth followed by Mike Thompson in fifth.  Austin Quick, Damon Paul, Christian Bruno, Johnny Smith and Steve Drevicki rounded out the top ten.

Alex Swift made it a pair of Aces with his second victory in Poker Series competition.  Polesitter, Jason Swavely led the first dozen laps while Swift and Nick Skias battled wheel to wheel for the runner-up spot.  The battle for second allowed the leader to pull away from the field but several caution flags around the halfway mark, brought the field back together.

The lap fourteen restart saw Skias, who was running third, and the Swavely, lock bumpers, allowing Swift to pass for the lead.

The second half of the race was clear sailing for Swift who took the checkered flag at the end of twenty-five laps.  Ken Andreas followed Swift across the finish line with Barry Pollard in third.  Skias rebounded to finish fourth with Sarah Napora rounding out the top five.  Swavely was involved in a turn four incident while racing to the checkered and did not cross the finish line.

Scott Neary made his first Spirt Speedway appearance in the All Star Slingshots and picked up an Ace for his Poker Series hand.

Neary’s brother, Sam raced side by side with Danny Buccafusca for the lead in the early laps.  The two drivers were so focused on racing each other that Scott Neary was able to driver underneath the pair and take the lead on lap five.

Scott Neary was able to pull away from the field whilethe battle went on for second with Jason Kraycirik closing in on the pair at halfway.  Michael Beckett, a rookie in this division this season, raced with the top five throughout the twenty lap feature event.

Scott Neary took the win over his brother, Sam followed by Buccafusca, Kraycirik and Beckett.

Joe Toth has already won a South Jersey Overhead Door 602 Sportsman feature at the Bridgeport Motorsports Park this season.  Tonight, he raced a second Thompson No. 11 in the 600 Micros as well as Matt Bruns Excel 600 Modified.  He qualified for both events but came away with the win in the Xcel 600 Modified feature over Korey Inglin and Dave Burns.  That gives Toth a win on both tracks this season.
