Bridgeport, NJ – Sixteen year old driver, Steven Snyder Jr. from Rising Sun, MD raced to his first ever win at the Spirit Auto Center Speedway quarter mile on Friday night in the Hyper Racing Evo Injection 600 Micro Sprints.  Alex Swift added a few more points to his lead in the standings with his third win of the 2021 season in the 270 Micro Sprints.

The win was Snyder’s second in the last week after he won the feature event at the Championship Energy Action Track last Sunday.

Snyder has been a factor in nearly every race that he’s run this season.  It was only a matter of time before his efforts paid off in victories.

Snyder credited his dad, Steven Snyder, Sr; with giving him a car that has been capable of winning.  Snyder drew the pole for the twenty-five lap feature but two red flags and several cautions kept the field tight and prevented the race leader from pulling away from any challengers.

Connor Gross lined up with Snyder for the start but the first of two red flags came before lap one could be completed.  Dom Hinrichsen went for a wild ride in turn one but was not injured.  The field lined up for the complete restart.

Gross led the way and was scored as the leader of lap one in spite of the challenge by Snyder.  A second red flag was needed on lap two when Corey Anderson took a ride in turn three.  Anderson was not injured.  The field lined up again and this time, Snyder grabbed the lead on the start.  Steve Bracall raced into second with Gross in third.

Pat Bealer was on the move and raced his way into second from his tenth place start.  Bealer battled with Gross and then moved in on Steve Bracall on lap eight.  Bealer took over second and began to put the pressure on Snyder.

A multi-car tangle with ten laps to go took Bracall, PJ Williams and Chris Fenimore out of contention.  All three cars had been racing in or near the top five.  On the restart, Bealer hit a slick spot on the track and Gross was able to regain second.

Snyder raced to the checkered flag for the win followed by Gross, Bealer, Geordon Marrero and Frank Holmes.  Robert Pierce finished sixth followed by Eddie Barber, III,  Anthony Tramontana, Matt Jarowski and Fred Heinly.

Snyder is gaining some valuable experience that should be a big help to the young racer with some big races coming up on the schedule.

Tommy Rinck, Jr. led the way through the first twelve laps of the 270 Micro Sprint feature that ran non-stop, green to checkered in just under four and a half minutes.  Swift raced his way into second with a bold move and then proceeded to cut into Rinck’s sizeable lead.  Lapped traffic played a factor that hindered the leader more than the challenger.

Swift took the lead on lap thirteen.  Nick Skias raced in third and then advanced to second when he completed the pass by Rinck with five laps to go.

Swift led the way to the finish line followed by Skias, Rinck, Tyler Grau and John Wagner, Jr.  George Nardelli, Nick Walton, Lee Nardelli, Dom Pomponi and Trevor Waegel completed the top ten in the running order.

The win was Swift’s 21st victory on the quarter mile and moved him ahead of Jay Hartman on the All Time Feature winners list.

The All Start Slingshots were scheduled for another matinee performance on Saturday so they were off on Friday night.
